Winter 2000


Marianne Buehler, (1998) has been very busy. She published the article "It Takes a Library to Support Deistance Learners" with Elixabeth Dopp, Kerry Hughes, and Jennifer Thompson. Marianne has also gave two presentations and has one planned in the spring:

Davinna Artibey, (2000) started a new job, Librarian I, at the Olympia Timberland Library in Olympia, Washington. This is a public library. Her job deals mostly with reference and instruction.

Gary W. Markham, (1997) has started a new job, Head of Music Cataloging at the Warren D. Allen Music Library at Florida State University. This is a new faculty position at FSU.

Amy Hale Janeke, (1999) Was published in the September 2000 issue of American Associations of Law Libraries' Spectrum magazine. It was a "back page" article detailing the trial and tribulations of her first national professional conference.
Amy co-presented a program at the Internet Librarian conference with alum Ruth Kneale entitled "The Many Hats of an Internet Librarian".
Amy has designed and is teaching a class on legal research skills to the public on an ongoing basis. The class is a one-time only class which is offered once a month and is the only class of its type currently offered anywhere in the U.S.
In addition to all her legal reference work, Amy has started an outreach program to county jail inmates. In the program, they assessed the library, made some suggestions, and will begin teaching prisoners how to use the library and its materials.
On a personal note, Amy was married on July 1, 2000

Kurt W. Wagner, (1994) was promoted to Head of Library Information Systems & Automation at William Paterson University of New Jersey.
On a personal note, Kurt is engaged and will be married in June.
