We congratulate SIRLS students who have been honored recently:
Michael Gutierrez is the 1999/2000 intern for the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA).
Marlo Young was recognized by the Medical Library Association recently with a fellowship in Bethesda, Maryland to prepare future librarians for work in medical services libraries.
Sandy Rizzo has been accepted to participate in the Library Leadership Institute to be held this summer at Snowbird Resort in the Wasatch Mountains above Salt Lake City, Utah.
Happenings--
A celebration dinner was held the evening of May 12 at La Fuente Restaurant for these graduates and all students, as well as family and friends. The outstanding library graduate awards were presented at the dinner to Serge Danielson-Francois and Robert Sean Evans. While the faculty selected the nominees, it was a hard decision due to the many outstanding graduates in the program this Spring.
New admits to the program are up well over 30 students. This does not include those students taking courses from us as non-degree seeking students, nor does it include those admitting for summer courses.
