Lisa Bunker
put together an exhibit for the UA Main Library: When Books Burn. The
exhibit ran from May 7 - June 8. Lisa also hosted a reception on May 10th.
The speakers at the reception were amazing. Gerda Weissman Klein is a
holocaust survivor and her husband Kurt is the American soldier who "liberated
Gerda and her friends from a Nazi Death March. Gerda won an Academy Award
for her documentary, "One Survivor Remembers." Lisa was also
interviewed on KUAT regarding her exhibit. Lisa Bunker and Nikol Price were honored as the Oustanding Students at the LSO Spring 2001 Graduation Celebration. Lisa was honored as the Outstanding Local Student and Nikol was honored as the Outstanding Distance Student. The LSO Graduation Dinner was well attended, with almost 75 attendees. In addition to honoring the graduates, students, faculty, and alumni presented farewells to Charley Seavey, including a set of crystal glasses with Raganathan's laws, two bottles of fine Scotch, and a satellite map of Tucson. Brooke Sheldon gave an inspiring and heartfelt speech for the graduates. The event was enjoyed by all. |
