The Advising Process

You are strongly encouraged to visit the comprehensive SIRLS Advising Website.

As soon as you are fully admitted to the program, you will be assigned a member of the faculty as your advisor. The advisor will be matched as closely as possible to your stated interest and career goals.

It is important to make contact as early as possible, and to maintain a regular schedule of meetings.

Normally, your advisor will be the same throughout the degree-seeking process, but if your career interests change, or for any other reason, you can easily transfer to another advisor. The Director is also available as needed.
