The Application Process

arrowUA Graduate College Application and Instructions
arrowUA Graduate College SIRLS Program Description

Thank you for your interest in the School of Information Resources & Library Science at the University of Arizona. The School expects applicants to have a well-rounded academic background. Other desirable attributes include the capacity for analytical thinking, organizational ability, and leadership skills.

Admission consideration is based on:

1) a written statement of introduction
2) a minimum undergraduate average of 3.0
3) competitive scores on the Graduate Record Examination; this requirement will be waived if the student already has a masters/doctorate/JD.
4) two letters of recommendation
5) a resume of work and educational experience

The requirements noted above are minimum requirements. The School receives a large number of applications and accepts the best qualified students. Meeting the minimum requirements is not a guarantee of admission.

A recommendation for admission cannot be submitted to the Graduate College without receipt of ALL required items. Please keep in mind, the application process is a two part process. Students must send application materials to both the Graduate College Admissions Office, and SIRLS. An application can be complete with the Graduate College, but still be lacking materials for the SIRLS portion of the process.

We urge you to submit all application materials by the deadlines listed below.
