The student group is a non-profit membership organization. Dues are used to cover costs associated with providing services to existing members, recruiting new members, and fostering relationships with community and university supporters.

NOTE: Membership in the local student group is independent of membership in national or state organizations. SIRLS students are invited to join as many of these organizations as desired. Student dues for the national organization are lower than regular membership dues.

Membership is open to all SIRLS students. We are striving to increase our membership this coming year and wish to have you consider joining SLA and learn all of the benefits your membership will offer. To become a member, print and fill out the membership form, attach the appropriate dues ($10.00 a year or $15.00 entire time as SIRLS student), and place it in the SLA mailbox in the Office of the School of Information Resources and Library Sciences, or mail to:

To join the SLA Student listserv, follow the instructions below:
- Send an email to: listserv@listserv.arizona.edu with an empty subject line, and with the following line as the body of the email.
Example: subscribe SLAMEMBERS (Yourfirstname Yourlastname)
- Check for new email to confirm request within 48 hours. NOTE: The list registers your email address as a subscriber instead of your name, so only the email account that you registered will be allowed to receive postings or to post messages.
- If none of this works, email Leslie Kent Kunkel to add you to the SLA student listserv.
